Go Green Building

Go Green in the Building Industry

The more I learn about all the immense clean energy technology available that is not being shared with the public through traditional mass media such as TV or the Newspaper – it makes me question why (and yes I know I ask why to just about every topic)

When it comes to this topic though its incredibly different – whether you believe in global warming is irrelevant, I am not here to get in some this book said, that book said, fight.

What I do know is this…

Most everyone feels deep down that they want the world to be cleaner and easier to live in.

We all know that if an iPhone can locate your exact position anywhere in the world then by golly we can use the unlimited amount of wind, sun (solar), and earth (geo-thermal) to build off-the-grid self-sustaining homes and more importantly the BIG energy suckers skyscraper condos and office buildings.

So, what’s the hold up, are we really waiting for a global suicide?

What it comes down to is this, we each really do make a difference, and we are responsible for our fellow humans.

Start Small

- Switch to Energy Efficient Light bulbs

- Use Recycled Toliet Paper

- Use Cloth Towels Instead of Paper Towels

- Reuse Glass Bottles for water and other liquids

- Use Social Entrepreneurship Principles (for more on that topic see this blog post I made specifically for that )

- Tell a Friend live or through Social Media (word of mouth is still the quickest and most effective way to spread an idea)

My 5 year plan consists of purchasing 50-100 acres on Hawaii to be a demo city for others to model. Much already in the works for this massive project.

Short and Sweet today

Building Passive Income – Teaching You the Bare Minimums

Building Passive Income is what every business owner, investor, and network marketer gets wet just hearing about (sorry I know that’s a little graphic) But in all seriousness passive income is what everybody wants master once they see how exhausting trading time for dollars can be in a job or yes even in a big business.

The purpose of building passive income is to do the work ONCE using technology as leverage and let it pay you over and over and over again – sounds great eh?

One thing I would like to point out to all of you who think that you have “the best product or service” studies show that people are NOT loyal to products, they are loyal to PEOPLE or to be even more specific they are loyal to the feeling that you give them. So the name of the game is building solid trustworthy relationships = building passive income.

The way to do that is by adding value to peoples lives. You can do this in two ways:

1. by providing relief from some sort of pain in a person’s life
2. by providing more pleasure in a person’s life

Passive income also entails that if you are to get paid again and again then people must be buying from you again and again – in the business world we call this reoccurring revenue or a continuity program. This is most commonly used in a monthly format but can also be used bi-annually or annually. It’s important that your product or service is something that your customer CAN’T live without – therefore reducing the refund rate.

Some examples of reoccurring revenue are:

- monthly magazine subscription (ie: cosmo)
- monthly cell phone bill
- annual membership fees (ie: whale foundation)
- monthly software service (ie: keyword tool)
- monthly business services (ie: merchant account)
- monthly gaming (ie: World of Warcraft)
- monthly service (ie: dating profiles)

It’s important to do research in your chosen niche and to listen and take note of what your customers are unhappy with – an easy way to do this is to go to a public forum where your customer can bitch with other customers and see what continuing complaints come up. Want an even easier way check this out, look at a potential competitors ripoffreport.com responses or the better business bureau files.

Once you settle on a niche that you feel has a need that you can fill, the next step is to get your message and product or service out there for as many eyes balls to see aka your marketing strategy. The best and most cost effective way (due to your ability to track your results – VERY important) to do this in my opinion is to use the internet via Google pay per click or even better once you have an offer that is converting ramp up your traffic with paid media I’d recommend buying a course on this topic before you dare tip-toe into that ball game. I personally liked http://www.NewEconomyTraffic.com you can manage your way through it less than 3 hours.

Lastly and my personal favorite model is the high ticket direct sales model. it’s the easiest and quickest way to building passive income you just do the marketing part. This is a hybrid model to the old school network marketing model where you need to recruit a team the size of a small army in order to make enough money to live off of. Your passive income is anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 depending on which company you choose to work with. The best marketing tool that I have found out of the literally hundreds I’ve looked at can be found here http://www.NewEconomySecrets.com

What does Christina Aguilera’s Photo Gallery have to do with Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur?

Good Question. You tell me, no ok, how about I tell you instead, your reading my post now aren’t cha.

My background as a professional dancer and dance teacher came with a love for the top 100 hits.  One of my favorite times to listen to Chicago’s B96 radio station was when I got home after dance and would take a therapeutic bath

(quit visualizing me a in a bath you dirrty (pun intended) minded person you lol) Ladies I am sure you all agree with me on this one, baths are gods sends for achy muscles after exercise and stress.

Ok where was I, oh yes, it was the 9 most wanted at 9 radio show and I heard the radio personality say “here’s the number 7  song Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera on our countdown from Chicago’s own B96’s 9 most wanted” Hearing this smooth pop voice I immediately wanted to hear more

(this was 1999 before you could just Google someone and find out everything from where they grew up to what there favorite pizza was)

If you look at my www.youtube.com/ImQtKD favorites  you would see that I have lots of her songs listed. I am a raving fan of Christina’s lyrics and music, for the sound of it and for the provocative inspirational message behind it

(sounds like me doesn’t it, provocatively inspirational, hey that needs to be my new trademark, forget “rebel with a heart”, I’m going with provocatively inspirational)

In some of my darkest hours of business building, be it alone in my parents basement re-building a new venture after losing my first enterprise out of my ignorance, or hearing other people’s limited view of women in business or letting go of potential million dollar partnerships that you knew in your heart didn’t hold the same visions as you, or even just those throw your hands up in defeat after 25 “the answers NO” phone calls, it was her songs that pulled me through.

Often when I tell people about my love for her music people say things like “oh yeah she’s another pop diva like Britney but with a better voice” and I always look back dumbfounded like “have you ever read her lyrics?” So for your enlightenment into her true depth as an artist see below

Here are few songs for Personal Strength and Mindset

Excerpts from Soar “Will you give up, give in, when your hearts crying out that its wrong…. We start to look outside ourselves for acceptance and approval… Find a path that is your own… Don’t hold back and always know all the answers will unfold… What is it in us that makes us feel the need to keep pretending, gotta let ourselves be”

Excerpts from Keep Singin My Song “Decided right here, right now, that my outlooks gonna change… Say goodbye to all the tears I’ve cried, every time some one hurt my pride… I see every blessing so clearly… But they can’t succeed in taking my inner peace from me… They can say all they wanna say about me, but I’m gonna carry on… Wasted so much energy on what they thought of me, then simply just remembering to breath”

Excerpts from Here To Stay “No matter people say or might think, I ain’t going no place, no I’m here to stay… I’ve never been the type to be shy… I’d rather be a woman who voices her mind, whether you think I’m right or wrong,… Imma prove that I ain’t ever gonna be stopped like it or not… All your doubt can do now is strengthen me”

Excerpts from Hello “Hold your vision you will find your way… I may not fit the mold, may not do what I’m told… I have held my ground, look at me I’m still around… dream on, dream on… Cause I’ve got love to give and I’ve got dreams to live… There’s no one quite like you, be proud in all you do… Shine baby shine, cause its all in your mind”

Excerpts from The Voice Within “When there’s no one else, look inside yourself, like your oldest friend, just trust the voice within, then you’ll find the strength, that will guide your way, you’ll learn to begin to trust the voice within… Life is a journey it can take you anywhere you choose to go, as long as your learning, you’ll find out all you’ll ever need to know, no one can tell you what you can’t do ”

Excerpts from Monday Morning “I can always find the time to lay out in the sand, watchin’ as the waves roll by it makes me understand, what it is to make a life that means a little more, seems so easy to forget what were all lookin’ for… I don’t know where I’m goin’ just yet, skippin’ work and I don’t need to excuse it, long as the floating feelin’ I get in the moment, makes it really worth it… hey forget about your monday mornin’ we will never ever be that borin, so so ordinary, same old story…let them keep talkin, I don’t regret, they can’t help it, caught up in there mindset”

All these songs listed can be found on my YouTube channel under favorites with most having lyrics listed or on the screen. Even if your not down go listen now and feel the power of a legendary voice bringing you home to your soul.

aloha!

Little You Inc… You Actually Ain’t That Little Anymore

Little You Inc, this was the view of most when this idealistic term showed up in the late 90’s, promising that your own image alone could sell product and book JV deals. Even just a few years ago people questioned the power of building the brand called you, but no, not today.

You don’t need to be Oprah to build an humongous twitter following. Every day professionals are building there following simply by being themselves 100%. What a paradigm shift!

You no longer need to have the big, all powerful media companies promoting you and creating overnight publicity and fame.

Every major industry has the pyramidal structure with the small board of people that own the industry at the top.

Whether it be record labels in music, producers in movies and tv, broadcasters in news, or the board of directors in business. While this old model still exists in large numbers it is dying a little more each and every day.

The corporate big boys are being forced to adapt to the changing times of the empowered entrepreneurs rising up in every single neighborhood in the world.

The delicious time has arrived where Little You Inc has the ability to build entire team enterprises STILL from the comfort of your own home.

Practically all the millionaires created in the past 5 years did so by using two things

1. The World Wide Web – notice the term access to the entire world of customers via a home computer

2. Technological Systems – turn-key infrastructure that provides the backbone and leverage for you to simply work the system

Take these two must-have tools and combine it with your own unique style and you’ve got an explosive business model of the next decade.

The things that you may have felt alienated from in your family, spouse or location of living are now interests that can be massaged and welcome by the billion person audience on the web. It seems that the more you are into the better.

As author of All Marketers Are Liars, Telling Authentic Stories in a Low Trust World – Seth Godin says “all you need to lead a tribe, is a shared belief or hobby and a leader”

There are millions of tribes just waiting to be lead, and every person today has the potential to lead there very own tribe.

Your brand is about who you are not just in business but in all areas of your life. The separation of your professional life and your personal life are no longer relevant.

The privacy line has gone down, its about letting people in and allowing them to see who you really are, proudly.

Brand Building Strategy – The 4 Questions Your Company Must Complete in Order to Move Forward

Your company’s brand building strategy needs to be consistent with your specific businesses overall brand, message, and purpose. In other words if your company’s colors are royal blue, your tag line is we provide solutions for landscapers, and you are known as the boutique business provider, than you always want to use that pre-determined color and tag line in every piece of sales and marketing collateral.

Everything in your brand image and feel needs to be all about your customer in this example landscapers. You want your ad copy, your logo, and your videos to all talk directly to and in the lingo of a landscaper. You want to make sure the feeling and tone is consistent across all of your sales collateral for a specific project.

To give an example of where the term ‘brand’ came from it started when cattle ranches started branding there cows with a hot iron so they could tell who the cows belonged too.

You want to brand all your products so people recognize them as your companies product.

Legal Note: check to see which names, tag lines, and terms are already registered trademarks ( TM ) or unregistered trademarked ( R ) so you aren’t infringing on another companies intellectual property.

Lawyers and law suits ain’t fun for anyone involved, the money, time and energy it takes isn’t worth it so be mindful and check before you go to market with your brand. With that in mind, take action in your own company to protect your businesses intellectual property by applying with the US patents and trademarks offices.

Your brand building strategy needs to include the following in your MindMap and outline

1. Who is your target niche market?

2. What’s your competition doing?

3. What product and service are you offering and if its similar to what others are doing how is your product or service different?

4. What is your businesses personal style, tone, and unique selling proposition?

Is your message monotone and serious or is your message upbeat and loud? All ways work, its matter of how you want the marketplace to feel and view your business.

Are you the city brand or the country brand? Are you a 5 man operation or a 50 man operation? Have you been in business for 1 year or 16 years? Are you a family owned or part of a bigger company? Do you offer a guarantee or no refund policy? Is your product made locally or overseas?

Most companies choose to go with a brand that’s safe and “corporate looking” but even this strategy has been changing rapidly. With the overabundance of choice in every single market and niche, what brings in the cash now-a-days is your powerful and specific brand building strategy.

To sum up, people buy people. People buy the feeling you give them. Attraction branding 101.

Christina Aguilera Info – (Continued from Previous Post What Do Christina Aguilera’s Songs Have To Do With Success)

Christina Aguilera Info- this is a spring off of more empowering songs by my all time favorite singer and songwriter Christina Aguilera.

Here are few songs for female sexuality and empowerment

Excerpts from Can’t Hold Us Down “So what am I not supposed to have an opinion, should I be quiet, not speak cause I’m a woman, call me a bitch cause I speak what’s on my mind,… When a female fires back, suddenly the target don’t know how to act … Thinkin all women should be seen not heard, what we do girls, shout louder”

Excerpts from Still Dirrty “they say that love has gone and changed me, don’t be fooled by everything  you see, gotta let the naughty in me free, tryin to play by the rules is tough, cause sooner or later somethin’s gonna erupt… still got that freak in me, Why is a woman’s sexuality always under so much scrutiny, why can’t she do exactly as she please without being called a million things…there’s some women out there who talk and stare, who never seem to let down there hair, like pass judgment, but there just sacred, and they don’t know what there missin, so you’d better beware… dont tell me to behave, cause I’ll never play that game, if your talkin bout my life, your only wastin your own time… if I wanna be provocative well that ain’t a sin, maybe your not comfortable in your own skin”

Excerpts from Woohoo “I’m gonna let cha get a little closer even though I’m not supposed ta… You know you wanna put your lips where my hips are, you don’t even need a plate just your face ha” (yeah, you read that correctly lol)

Excerpts from Get Mine Get Yours “Can you put your hands on my waistline, move my hips to baseline…”

Excerpts from Trouble “Got some secrets up my sleeve if you know just what I mean, I’ve got places you’ve never been, take you out of your skin, I’m whole lot of trouble baby, oooh since the day that I was born,

Excerpts from Candyman “when he kiss my mouth he really hits the spot, he’s got lips like sugar cane, ohh good things come for boys who wait”

Here are a few songs about her soul mate (mine is www.JaysonShawver.com)

Excerpts from Ain’t No Other Man “Ain’t no other man can stand up next to you, you got soul, you got class, you got style, your bad ass… You are there when I’m a mess, talk me down from every ledge, give me strength boy your the best, your the only whose ever passed every test”

Excerpts from Save Me From Myself “Its not so easy lovin me, its gets so complicated all the things you got be, I’m amazed by all your patience, everything I put you through, when I’m about to fall somehow your always waitin’ with your open arms to catch me… well tomorrow may be shaky but you never turn away… well some guys have shown me aces but you’ve got that royal flush, don’t ask me why I’m cryin’ cause when I start to crumble you know how to keep me smilin’, I know its hard, but you’ve broken all my walls, you’ve been my strength, so strong… don’t ask me why I love you, its obvious your tenderness is what I need to make me, a better woman to myself…”

Excerpts from On Our Way “Me and you were different, don’t always see eye, and sometimes we even fight… Through all the lows and highs need you by my side… Move on from all the time shoulda laughed not cried… The love I feel for you grows everyday, the more we get to learn from our mistakes”

Excerpts from Without You “Like an angel from the sky, I’m on a spiritual high… How I cherish through and through every part of you, loving you’s made me whole, now I belong, I’ve found my home…

Excerpts from Understand “My hopes were dying, so sick of trying, but then you came into my life, you opened up my softer side… There’s no way to lie to you, you know me better than I do”

Small Business Branding – Finally the Little Guy Can Equally Compete in Corporate Strategies

In the past the phrase ’small business branding’ was an idea viewed as something that small business owners did not have the luxury to even think about – there was too much work to be done!

In the past it was also close to impossible for say a local hardware store to compete with the hardware franchisee down the street in terms of marketing and advertising dollars.

The local store will put a $50 ad in the yellow pages and attend local chamber meetings, while the corporate franchisee umbrella spends literally millions of dollars in national radio, TV, newspaper, and magazine ads.

This million plus audience exposure results in conditioning the minds of the viewers and pre-selling customers to choose the brand and store front that they recognize with the buy one get one half off TV promotion (aka the local franchise) Obviously this creates a HUGE financial disadvantage to the mom and pop local store.

The small business owner knows the technical work needed to deliver there product or service but more often than not they know close to nothing about there stores USP which is marketing 101, how to craft an offer which is advertising 101, and how to how to position there overall look and feel which is branding 101.

9 out of 10 times the business owner either doesn’t want to learn these essential skills or they don’t see the need to pay for marketing, or they simply don’t know who to get advice from concerning marketing.

Fortunately for the internet the local business now has a chance at small business branding. Instead of selling to the just the customer base in there neighborhood; they now have access to 10 times that many customers online where there the cash register rings at 2am without the small business owner needing to be there to take the order.

The internet has evolved so much that now the local hardware store has the ability to target local customers through a new avenues of communication that were not available to the extent that it is now even just a few years ago.

The beauty of the moving business trends of today is that people truly WANT the small, mom and pop, neighborhood business feeling back! People like knowing YOU the owner(s), people like to know about your family, kids, grandkids, and pets.

People like to be treated like people, like a neighbor, like there business matters.

Customers are realizing that while it may take a little longer for there purchases to be rung up because front desk employee Joanne is telling her customer Jessica of 2 years how much she loves her knew earrings. Or, the store isn’t open past 5pm because the owners believe there employees need time for themselves, there own families and there other hobbies outside of work.

A large majority of people are choosing to NOT be just a number to be monetized to the highest possible amount any longer. This is good news for the faithful, personable local small business that is ready to give 5 star one on one service to each and every customer that walks through there doors.

Incorporating You Inc – Your Most Powerful Asset in the New Economy

Incorporating You Inc can only be done with a few basics in place to get you started. This may be an overstatement but to Incorporate You Inc you need the Inc part. You need to set up your own S or C corporation business entity (disclaimer: seek a trusted accountant for this advice) separate from being a sole proprietor, a sub contractor, or self-employed.

Business 101 teaches us that the greatest way to lower your expenses and keep more of your own money is to allocate and lessen your taxes. One of the best ways to do this is by taxing your expenses through the business entity which is separate from you. Again talk to your own accountant for details.

While the incorporation may not be named your own name, as CEO you are the face, feeling, and personality that drives people to hold images in there minds about what your company’s values are.

Your brand is about who you are not just in business but in all areas of your life. The separation of your professional life and your personal life are no longer there.

People want to do business with the company that delivers the goods on time with outstanding service AND has fun company outing pictures on there blog talking about the awesomeness costume party of last month.

Think about how fast social media exploded in 2009. This is because people are sick of feeling like talking from one politically correct robot to another politically correct robot. Feelings and enjoyable conversation has been taken away and people desperately want it back. People really truly want to get to know YOU, Quirks, talents, weakness, hobbies in all.

From an individual stand point I will give you two different examples of incorporating you inc into a two different fields of business.

Dance studio – they offer professional ballet classes and the owners are personally into the green movement so every class you purchase they will spend $1 of it towards adding solar panels to there roof.

Real Estate agent – Offers timely and efficient solutions to getting your house sold in record time and the agent gets talking and you realize you both have a deep love for jazz music, the house is sold and you are gifted with tickets to your favorite artist.

Its all about your own unique style. Its about the different tribes of belief you subscribe too.

The more we have in common with others the more bridges of emotion we have into there own lives.

12 Years of Business Lessons in 12 Minutes (OK more like 5 mins)

Once an entrepreneur, always an entrepreneur.

Once a marketer, always a marketer.

Looking back, in not only my own life but in the lives of almost every other entrepreneur I am privileged to meet, there is a common thread that connects us all – and you know what that is? Its the reoccurring story of how they where “that kid” that always had a knack for how people work and how to get the resources they needed for the projects they were determined to complete – often with the dismay of hard-working parents that firmly believed they should sit down, sit still, and do there math homework assignment.

If your grinning in remembrance of how “you showed them”

than please accept my virtual high-five and bright grin back.

Here are 2 classic ways “we showed ‘em” Back to memory lane – eh.

1. Approximate age em 3-6 years old. You figured today is a holiday and its hot, really hot. What do my friends and I always want when its hot? – I know an icey cool drink. AH HA, smart mini-entrepreneur munchkin to the rescue. You round up the other neighborhood kids during the smothering 4th of July parade, shack up a 10 cent per cup lemonade stand with a crooked sign and watered down pixie drinks from the 4 hour old ice cubes that melted. Biz Stats — 500 visitors, 350 no’s 150 yeses = $15 richer.

2. Approximate age em 7-12 years old. You figured out that Mr. Thomson is occupied 10+ hours a day soooo he doesn’t have time and he is a frugal saver (tight wad that uses his coffee filters twice) soooo he doesn’t like to spend a lot of money. AH HA, smart mini-entrepreneur kid to the rescue, a few supplies wrangled up, walking your stubby legs up to 20 different homes on 5 Cul-de-sacs with the same pitch  “hi ah ma’am/sir I got some paint brushes and paint and I can fix up your door for just $20 in 15 minutes, whadda ya say?” Biz Stats — 20 houses, 15 no’s, 5 yeses = $100 richer.

For me…

My entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 11 creating the flyer “jobs, jobs, jobs” What was your story (tell me in the comments below)

The 12 Lessons you’ve been waiting for…. drum roll, please

  • Your first business most likely won’t be the one that you “hit it big with” – try business shot number 3rd,4th,5th or even 10th
  • You can be a “successful” business person before you personally have a check written to your name for your first 20K month
  • Relationships * TRUMP * tricks and tools any day
  • There ain’t no – Automated – money system that you pay for and money comes popping out. But, there is a thing called effort = results aka do the work
  • You don’t give yourself enough credit – your your biggest critic
  • Ugly, tacky, messy, and “unprofessional” direct response marketing kicks pretty, shiny, and perfectly designed marketings ass all day long
  • You are NOT your customer… and yet you ARE your customer
  • Better to admit your “I suck at” points than to pretend you know it all
  • Never let “bad” grades, low test scores and lack of Bachelors diploma keep you from your deserved wealth and big dreams
  • Your Story sells yet don’t BE your story
  • The whole over-promising strategy to get more customers and sales ONLY works in the short term, and sabotages you in the long term
  • There is no easy way, your not going to find a one-quick fix magic pill, (and honestly would you really want something that easy – we grow the most when we are OUT of our comfort zone aka when we are challenged as hell)

Aloha all. I love and respect all my fellow entrepreneurs!

Make Money Online Now – The 4 Important Steps Others Teaching This Subject Conveniently Left Out

The best thing you can do to make money online now is to get REAL about what it takes to make money online now.

Making money, whether online or offline, is indeed simple once you get the snowball up over the hill and the system cranking, it is also quite a steep incline when you are first learning.

Often folks come into the internet money making industry as a newbie or with some success in another profession and think they can run 10 miles before they have even run 1 mile (aka trying to skip over to advanced internet marketing strategies before learning, applying and mastering internet marketing 101)

I know this sucks to hear but, there are no shortcuts and you don’t get something for nothing.

It doesn’t help that there are thousands of offers, courses, business opportunities and “the next best strategy” popping up all over your computer screen daily like hot cakes to convince you to steer off your pre-planned focus and get tasks done path.

If you ask the most successful online business owners (and by successful I mean someone that is around for more than 90 days) what they did to make a lot of money on the internet they will all tell you this

1. I created marketing
2. I measured and tracked my marketing
3. I re-tweaked and improved my marketing
4. I did the first three steps over and over and over again

The easiest way to make money online now is to promote a product and system that is already in place so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
